Baked Red Cabbage

- Trim cabbage stem and cut off bruised leaves.
- Quarter cabbage and shred finely.
- Brown meat in large saucepan; add onions and apples.
- Add wine and bring to a boil.
- Add cabbage, salt, pepper and sugar.
- Mix, then bake at 350°, covered, until cabbage is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
- Stir in vinegar.
- Serves 8.
