  • black pepper

Tips & Substitutions

For added flavor, marinate the chicken breasts in a mixture of lemon juice and olive oil for a few hours before cooking. If you prefer a creamier sauce, use half-and-half instead of water when mixing with the cream of chicken soup. You can also substitute green pepper with bell peppers or mushrooms for different flavor profiles.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this dish with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal. It pairs beautifully with Stir-Fried Shrimp And Rice or can be served over a bed of fluffy white rice to soak up the creamy sauce. Consider adding a slice of crusty bread to complete the dining experience.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the chicken in a microwave-safe dish, cover with a damp paper towel, and heat on medium power until warmed through. Alternatively, reheat in the oven at 350°F until hot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen chicken breasts for this recipe?

Yes, you can use frozen chicken breasts, but it's important to thaw them completely before cooking to ensure even cooking. Place them in the refrigerator overnight or use the defrost setting on your microwave.

What can I substitute for cream of chicken soup?

If you prefer a healthier option, you can make a homemade version using chicken broth, milk, and a thickening agent like cornstarch or flour. This will give you a similar creamy texture without the preservatives.

How do I know when the chicken is fully cooked?

The best way to ensure chicken is cooked through is to use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should reach 165°F. Alternatively, you can cut into the thickest part of the breast; the juices should run clear without any pink.
