Ingredients

  • 4 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 cups tea
  • 2 cups mixed fruit
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spices
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Soak the mixed fruit in tea overnight.
  2. Mix all dry ingredients together.
  3. Stir in the beaten egg.
  4. Combine all ingredients well and spoon into a lined tin.
  5. Bake in a moderate (325°F) oven for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Serve sliced and spread with butter.
