- In a large bowl, thoroughly mix 2 cups of flour, dry milk solids, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add the softened oleo to the dry ingredients.
- Gradually add very warm tap water (120-130°F) to the dry ingredients and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed of an electric mixer, scraping the bowl occasionally.
- Add 3/4 cup of flour and beat at high speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
- Stir in enough additional flour to make a stiff dough.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease the top.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place, free from drafts, until doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes.
