Instructions
- Cut the chicken in half.
- Sprinkle the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Place the chicken in a pan with enough hot water to just cover the bottom.
- Slice one large onion for each chicken and place slices under the wings and legs.
- Bake the chicken at 350°F for 30 minutes.
- Turn the chicken and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- Pour about three-quarters of the sauce over the chicken and bake for 1 hour longer, skin sides up.
- Just before serving, pour the remaining sauce over the chicken.
