Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, eggs, and self-rising flour with a mixer, continuing to beat at medium speed.
  2. Put margarine and milk in a saucepan and let come to a boil just until the margarine melts.
  3. Add the hot margarine and milk mixture to the egg and flour mixture. The batter will be very thin.
  4. Pour the batter into prepared cake pans or cupcake liners and bake at 350°F (175°C) until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
