Ingredients

  • 1 cup lentils
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 bouillon cubes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Bring lentils, water, bouillon cubes, bay leaf, and salt to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Add tomato paste, onions, vegetables, or cheese for more flavor if desired.
  4. Serve plain or over rice.
