Ingredients

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 3/4 cup cubed cheese
  • 1 stalk celery, sliced
  • 1/2 small green pepper, chopped
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni until tender, then drain and rinse with cold water to cool.
  2. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, milk, relish, and salt to make the dressing.
  3. Toss the cooled macaroni with the dressing until evenly coated.
  4. Add the cubed cheese, sliced celery, chopped green pepper, and chopped onion; mix well.
  5. Cover the salad and chill in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Stir in additional milk if the salad seems too thick before serving.
