Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can whole green beans
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. dill seed
  • 1 tsp. mixed pickling spices
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Drain the green beans and reserve the liquid.
  2. Mix the reserved liquid with vinegar, sugar, dill seed, pickling spices, and salt; bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and cover; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add the drained beans and heat through.
  5. Cool the mixture and drain excess liquid.
  6. Toss with chopped onion and cooking oil.
  7. Cover and chill overnight before serving.
