- Combine yeast, lukewarm water, and Shredded Wheat biscuits in a bowl.
- Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Beat egg and bean and bacon soup with a mixer.
- Add the egg mixture to the yeast mixture.
- Add brown sugar, molasses, salt, and salad oil or melted shortening.
- Mix until smooth.
- Beat in 2 cups of flour.
- Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough ball.
- Knead the dough, adding more flour if needed, until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Turn out the dough onto a floured breadboard.
- Divide into 3 loaves and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Let the loaves rise until almost level with the pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes.
