Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix the 3/4 cup water, sugar, salt, and margarine in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and then cool until lukewarm.
  3. Dissolve the dry yeast in 1 cup of warm water.
  4. Add the yeast mixture to the sugar and margarine mixture.
  5. Add the beaten egg and 3 cups of flour, then beat until smooth.
  6. Add the remaining flour gradually, mixing well; add more flour if the dough is sticky.
  7. Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise until doubled in size.
