Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups raw nuts
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Combine raw nuts, sugar, salt, and water in a pot.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Continue boiling until the mixture is dry.
  4. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease a jelly roll pan.
  5. Spread the nuts evenly in the prepared pan.
  6. Sprinkle coarse salt over the nuts.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Stir the nuts and sprinkle with salt again.
  9. Bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  10. Stir to prevent sticking and let cool before storing.
