Belgian Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 3 lb. boneless beef (chuck, etc.)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle beer

Instructions

  1. Cut beef into small cubes.
  2. Place flour in a plastic bag.
  3. Add beef cubes; toss until well coated.
  4. Heat butter over medium heat in a heavy pot.
  5. Add beef and brown well on all sides.
  6. After beef is browned, add beer and soup mix.
  7. Bring to a boil; lower heat to a simmer and cook.
  8. Cover until beef is tender, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Serves 4 to 6.
