Ingredients

  • 1 ounce compressed yeast
  • 1-1/2 packages dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cream

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar in warm water; set aside until bubbly.
  2. Beat 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons sugar, and salt. Add cream and butter.
  3. Beat until well combined.
  4. Add yeast mixture and slowly blend in flour to form a dough.
  5. Mix well and let stand for 10 minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into 5 or 6 parts.
  7. Form each part into a ball.
  8. Press each ball into greased pans, forming a 1/2 inch ridge around the outside.
  9. Let the dough rise for 15 minutes.
  10. Pour your chosen filling, such as rice, prune, poppy seed, apple, cherry, or pastry filling, over the center.
  11. Top with cheese topping.
  12. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
