Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean stewing beef in cubes
  • 4 diced shallots
  • brown sugar
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Brown and drain the beef cubes.
  2. Add brown sugar and caramelize into the meat.
  3. Add 2 cups water, beef cubes, bay leaves, crushed garlic, and shallots.
  4. Simmer for 2 hours, stirring frequently and ensuring the liquid level is maintained.
  5. Thicken to desired consistency with cornstarch.
  6. Serve with boiled potatoes and carrots.
