Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 or 4 eggs
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 to 4 large bananas
  • vanilla wafers

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs into yolks and whites.
  2. Place the egg yolks in a saucepan with sugar and evaporated milk.
  3. Fill half a can of water and pour into the mixture.
  4. Bring the mixture to a rapid boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Boil until thick and creamy.
  6. Add vanilla extract and remove from heat.
  7. Slice the bananas.
  8. Layer vanilla wafers in a serving dish and add a layer of sliced bananas.
  9. Repeat the layers once, then pour the cooked sauce over the layered wafers and bananas.
  10. Place the egg whites in a bowl.
  11. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and beat until fluffy.
  12. Spread the whipped egg whites over the pudding.
  13. Refrigerate until cool before serving.
