Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the well-beaten egg yolks to the mixture.
  3. Sift the flour twice with salt and baking powder.
  4. Add a little milk at a time with the flour mixture; then add vanilla.
  5. Fold in the beaten egg whites gently.
  6. Pour the batter into two greased iron skillets or your choice of pans.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven until done, about 35 minutes.
