Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup Crisco shortening
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients well and let stand for 2 hours, covered with a cloth, or leave overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Using a walnut-sized piece of dough, roll out and cut to the size of a saucer.
  3. Fill with your favorite fruit pie filling.
  4. Fold in half and seal the edges.
  5. Fry in Crisco vegetable shortening until golden brown.
  6. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
