- Clean beans for any small rocks.
- Boil in a large covered pot of water for 1 hour (medium heat).
- Add chopped up onion, tomato, garlic clove and well fried bacon, all cut up, to boiling beans and water.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add about a large cooking spoon of bacon grease to beans for extra flavor.
- Boil on low-medium heat for about 1 more hour, until beans are soft.
- Yum, yum!
