Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 cooking apples, pared, cored and diced
  • 3/4 to 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 canned pear halves, drained and crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425° F. Line a 9-inch pie plate with bottom pastry crust.
  2. Roll out the top crust.
  3. Combine diced apples, sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Arrange drained and crushed pear halves in the pie plate.
  5. Top the pears with the apple mixture and dot with butter.
  6. Place the top crust over the filling and adjust as needed.
  7. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until the filling is tender and the crust is nicely browned.
  8. Serve warm or cold.
