Ingredients

  • 2 c. hot milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Stir eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla together.
  2. Pour hot milk into the mixture and combine well.
  3. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Fill pie crusts with the custard mixture and dust with nutmeg.
  5. Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes.
  6. Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Insert a knife into the center of the pie; it should come out clean when done.
