Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg and flour, a little at a time, baking powder, nutmeg and vanilla; more flour may be needed to make a stiffer batter.
  3. (Roll out on flour sprinkled board and cut in shapes; may use a water glass to cut shapes.)
  4. Bake at 350° until lightly brown.
  5. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
