Ingredients

  • 1 thick slice bread
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 egg
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut a hole in the middle of the bread slice large enough to contain the egg yolk.
  2. Melt margarine in a skillet and brown the bread on one side.
  3. Flip the bread and carefully crack the egg into the hole, avoiding breaking the yolk.
  4. Cover the skillet and simmer until the egg is firm.
