Biscuits For Two

Fluffy, golden biscuits with a tender crumb and buttery flavor, perfect for breakfast or a snack. Ideal for two, they pair well with jam, honey, or butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 t. baking powder
  • 1 t. sugar
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/8 t. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cream of tartar.
  2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in milk until just combined.
  4. Turn onto a floured board, knead for one minute.
  5. Roll or pat dough to 1/2 inch thickness.
  6. Cut with a floured 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter.
  7. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 450°F for 10-12 minutes.
