Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon anise seeds or anise extract
  • 3 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs slightly. Gradually add sugar and oil. Mix well.
  2. Sift baking powder and flour together, and gradually add into mixture.
  3. Add anise seeds or anise extract to the mixture.
  4. Place the entire mixture into a jelly roll sheet pan or French bread loaf pan and spread evenly.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 20 minutes. Cool.
  6. Cut into slices and brown on each side at 400°F for just a few minutes.
