Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 can black sweetened pitted cherries
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Line the bottom and sides of the pan with whole vanilla wafers, standing them up to form the crust.
  2. Crumble some wafers and fill the spaces between the bottom layer to complete the crust.
  3. Mix lemon juice and Eagle Brand milk; stir until thickened.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly over the crust.
  5. Drain the cherries and spread them over the top of the filling; press down gently into the filling.
  6. Whip the cream and sweeten with sugar, then spread over the top of the pie.
  7. Crumble a few vanilla wafers and sprinkle over the whipped cream topping.
  8. Store the pie in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
