Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans
  • unbaked 9 inch pie shell
  • pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Put eggs, sugar, salt, corn syrup, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a blender and blend well.
  2. Add 1 cup of pecans and blend just enough to chop nuts coarsely.
  3. Pour the mixture into an unbaked 9-inch pie shell.
  4. Place pecan halves on top of the filling.
  5. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes.
  6. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake an additional 30 minutes until set.
