Ingredients

  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons melted shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Put blueberries in the bottom of an 8 x 8-inch pan.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, melted shortening, 1/2 cup sugar, and milk. Spread over berries.
  3. Mix 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, and water. Pour over the batter.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  5. Serve warm or cold with whipped topping.
