Ingredients

  • 2 cups scalded milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 3 eggs
  • 7 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Let the bread dough rise until it has approximately the volume of 1 1/2 loaves of the frozen kind.
  2. Break off pieces of dough the size of hickory nuts.
  3. Roll each piece in melted butter, then in 1 cup sugar with cinnamon.
  4. Drop the coated pieces into a greased tube pan (must be a tube pan; other pans will not work).
  5. Let the dough rise until it reaches the size of walnuts.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 15 minutes, for a total of 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. Invert the pan to remove the bread and enjoy!
