- Mix ingredients until it's a smooth paste.
- Pour into crockery pitcher and leave 3 or 4 days until it's slightly sour and solidifies (clabbers).
- Emptyings may be replenished after use by saving a piece of the dough to put back in pitcher along with leftover scrapings.
- More buttermilk or milk may be added as needed.
