Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. warm milk

Instructions

  1. Mix ingredients until it's a smooth paste.
  2. Pour into crockery pitcher and leave 3 or 4 days until it's slightly sour and solidifies (clabbers).
  3. Emptyings may be replenished after use by saving a piece of the dough to put back in pitcher along with leftover scrapings.
  4. More buttermilk or milk may be added as needed.
