Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons oleo
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons yeast

Instructions

  1. Place milk, oleo, egg, sugar, salt, flour, and yeast in the breadmaker according to the manufacturer's directions.
  2. Set the breadmaker to the dough cycle and run it until complete.
  3. Remove the dough after the cycle finishes.
  4. Roll the dough into a large rectangle.
  5. Fold the rectangle in half.
  6. Cut the folded dough into triangles.
  7. Heat oil in a deep fryer.
  8. Drop the dough triangles into the hot oil and fry for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove the sopaipillas from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  10. Dust with confectioners sugar and serve with honey.
