Ingredients

  • 1 cup Crisco or butter
  • 1/2 cup sifted confectioners sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Cream the Crisco and 1/2 cup of the sifted confectioners sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Stir in the sifted flour, salt, vanilla, and chopped pecans until well combined.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly to form a dough.
  4. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls.
  5. Place the balls on a cookie sheet that has been rubbed with Crisco.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 12 to 15 minutes until lightly browned.
  7. Immediately roll the warm cookies in sifted confectioners sugar after baking.
  8. Optionally, re-roll cooled cookies in sugar if desired.
