Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Mix all ingredients with hands.
  3. Spread dough in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes, watching carefully so the crust doesn't burn or brown.
  5. Remove from oven and stir with a spoon.
  6. Save 3/4 cup of the mixture for topping.
  7. Immediately press the remaining mixture against the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie pan and cool.
  8. Pour in your favorite cream filling.
  9. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs.
  10. Chill for 1 hour before serving.
