Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Melt butter in a 9 x 9-inch pan in the oven; remove.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add milk to the dry mixture and stir with a fork until combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the melted butter in the pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
