Ingredients

  • 5 medium carrots, cut into julienne strips
  • 4 stalks celery, cut into julienne strips
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine carrots, celery, water, melted butter, sugar, salt, and pepper in a 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Cover and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  3. Drain the vegetables.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and coat the vegetables well.
