Ingredients

  • 1 large fresh cabbage
  • 3/4 cup chopped bacon
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Wash the cabbage well and chop it into small pieces.
  2. Place the chopped cabbage into a large pot with chopped bacon and about 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  3. Cover with enough water to cook the cabbage well.
  4. Cook until the cabbage is tender and flavors meld.
  5. Serve hot with fresh onion and cornbread.
