Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 c. mashed figs, drained
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, oil, eggs and buttermilk and beat well.
  2. Add remaining dry ingredients and stir carefully until all in.
  3. Add figs, stirring well.
  4. Bake almost 1 1/2 hours at 300°.
