Campsite Kielbasa

A hearty and flavorful campsite dish featuring sliced kielbasa, colorful peppers, onions, potatoes, and water chestnuts, perfect for outdoor gatherings and quick cooking over a skillet.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. kielbasa sausage
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cans small potatoes

Instructions

  1. Slice the kielbasa sausage in half lengthwise, then cut into 3/4-inch thick half-moon shapes.
  2. Slice the onion and bell peppers into strips. Slice the potatoes.
  3. Drain liquid from the water chestnuts.
  4. Place all ingredients in a large skillet.
  5. Cook over medium heat until vegetables are tender.
  6. Serve over cooked noodles or rice.
  7. For camping, prepare vegetables beforehand and store in Ziploc bags.
  8. Leave the sausage in its original wrapping and prepare it the night before cooking.
