Ingredients

  • 23 cup brown sugar
  • 13 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 12 cup walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cream brown sugar and shortening.
  2. Add eggs.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add applesauce.
  5. Fold in chopped nuts.
  6. Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 60 minutes or until done.
