Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cups cornflakes

Instructions

  1. Stir, melt, and cook brown sugar, corn syrup, milk, and butter to the soft-ball stage at 238 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place 4 cups of cornflakes in a large buttered mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in the hot syrup mixture until blended.
  4. Pack the flakes in a buttered 8-inch ring mold.
  5. Cool. Invert and serve with sugared or stewed fruit.
