Ingredients

  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 c. pecan halves
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, boiling water, butter, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring.
  3. Cook until the mixture reaches the rolling ball stage; then drop in pecan halves and continue cooking.
  4. Cook until a few drops dropped into cold water form a hard ball.
  5. Remove from heat and beat the mixture until slightly cool.
  6. Drop the coated pecans onto wax paper and let cool.
