Carol'S Apple Cake

- preheat the oven to 350 and grease/flour tube pan.
- 6 apples-peel and slice thin-I use Granny Smith
- 5 tbl sugar
- 2 tsp cinn-combine sugar and cinn, coat apples
- combine:
- 1 C oil
- 2 C sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/3 C orange juice
- combine and then add add to the sugar mixture:
- 3 C all purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 tsp vanilla-stir in
- Layer the batter and apples in the prepared cake pan. I do a very small amount of batter first, then apples, batter, apples, batter. There will be some nice juice left in the apples/sugar/cinn bowl. I pour that over the last layer of batter. Bake about 1 1/2 hours. I test it with a very sharp thin knife, since a toothpick won't reach to the middle of the cake.
