Ingredients

  • 6 apples-peel and slice thin-I use Granny Smith
  • 5 tbl sugar
  • 2 tsp cinn-combine sugar and cinn, coat apples
  • 1 C oil
  • 2 C sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 C orange juice
  • 3 C all purpose flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. preheat the oven to 350 and grease/flour tube pan.

  6. 1 C oil
  7. 2 C sugar
  8. 4 eggs
  9. 1/3 C orange juice
  10. combine and then add add to the sugar mixture:
  11. 3 C all purpose flour
  12. 3 tsp baking powder
  13. 1/2 tsp salt
  14. 2 1/2 tsp vanilla-stir in
  15. Layer the batter and apples in the prepared cake pan. I do a very small amount of batter first, then apples, batter, apples, batter. There will be some nice juice left in the apples/sugar/cinn bowl. I pour that over the last layer of batter. Bake about 1 1/2 hours. I test it with a very sharp thin knife, since a toothpick won't reach to the middle of the cake.
