Ingredients

  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Cream Crisco, margarine, and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Add flour and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into a greased pan.
  5. Bake at 300°F for 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool before serving.
