Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (12 oz.) can beer

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare a loaf pan or baking sheet.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Stir in grated sharp Cheddar cheese, chopped onion, and minced garlic until evenly distributed.
  4. Pour in the beer and mix until just combined to form a batter.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake until the bread is golden brown and cooked through, about 40-50 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
