Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups Cheerios
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Brush a jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch) with butter.
  3. In a 3-quart saucepan, heat brown sugar, dark corn syrup, butter, and salt over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat.
  5. Stir in Cheerios, pecan halves, and slivered almonds until well coated.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes.
  9. Loosen the mixture with a metal spatula.
  10. Let stand until firm, about 1 hour.
  11. Store in a covered container.
