Ingredients

  • 1 cup (4 oz.) sharp shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crisp rice cereal

Instructions

  1. Stir together the shredded Cheddar cheese and softened butter until blended.
  2. Stir in the all-purpose flour and salt, blending well to form a stiff dough.
  3. Stir in the crisp rice cereal.
  4. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place on an ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  5. Flatten each cookie to 1/4-inch thickness with a fork.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 18 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
