Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake mix as directed on the package.
  2. Mix the cream cheese, egg, sugar, and chocolate chips together until well combined.
  3. Add about one teaspoon of the cheese mixture on top of each cupcake batter in the muffin tins.
  4. Bake the cupcakes as usual for the cake mix, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cupcakes to cool before serving, noting that the cheese mixture will settle inside.
