Cheese Walnut Crisps

Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. cube parmesan cheese (or hard Italian cheese like Romano)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 cold butter cubed

Instructions

  1. In food processor combine cheese and walnuts and finely chop. Add all the other ingredients except butter and water. Mix. Cut in the butter, add only enough ice water to form dough. Roll into 1" to 2" logs. Wrap in plastic. Refrigerate up to two days or freeze. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Thinly slice the rolls and brush with egg white. Bake for 10-20 minutes until nicely browned.
