Ingredients

  • 12 slices white bread
  • butter
  • cinnamon
  • 10 oz. jar cherry preserves
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 2/3 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Cut the crusts from the bread slices.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice.
  3. Arrange four slices in the bottom of an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.
  5. Spread about 2 teaspoons of cherry preserves on each slice.
  6. Repeat the layering process two more times to make 3 layers in total.
