Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup butter melted
  • 1 (14 oz.) package vanilla caramels

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, chopped pecans, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, and melted butter.
  3. Press half of the batter into the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 inch glass baking dish.
  4. Bake for 8 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, melt the vanilla caramels with the remaining 1/2 cup evaporated milk in the microwave, stirring often until smooth.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture over the baked layer.
  7. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
  8. Dot the remaining batter on top of the chocolate chips.
  9. Bake for 18 minutes.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
